Famous Philosopher Aristotle once said, "To give away money is an easy matter ... and in any man's power. But to decide to whom to give it, and how large and when, for what purpose and how, is neither in every man's power nor an easy matter. Hence it is that such excellence is rare, praiseworthy and noble."

As you may have noticed, QSUM is no longer acting as a mere forum that brings our members together but also engage with the fulfillment of a number of social responsibilities as an association of professionals. As part of this endeavor, QSUM is now used as a conduit by the members to interact and assist the unnoticed and needy people of our motherland.

In 2012, QSUM members joined their hands to donate substantial amount of clothes and stationeries to a large number of families living in the war affected rural villages in Sri Lanka. In 2013, QSUM members moved a further step forward and raised approximately AED 25,000 and donated 14 surgical adjustable beds to Thabuttegama Base Hospital in Sri Lanka. As confirmed by the doctors, this donation was a great support to alleviate the discomfort and the pain of the patients due to lack of such facilities.

The charity event organized by the QSUM has a fixed place in the QSUM annual event calendar and in the year 2014, QSUM once again organized a charity box event to donate school supplies to the students of Miriswelpotha Vidyalaya and Thibbakolakatiya Vidyalaya which are located at Udawalawa.

We would like to thank all our members who have contributed generously to support this needy cause and we are committed to continue our social responsibility in the future too. We also would like to thank Building Economics Students’ Society (BESS) of the University of Moratuwa for their enormous strive in reaching the needy schools and the students who are having bright future ahead and their continuous support in distribution of these donations.
