A CPD organized by QSUM-UAE Chapter was successfully conducted by Mr. Dennis Brand on 25^th March 2015 at the Business Village, Dubai, UAE. QSUM-UAE Chapter is pleased to announce that there was overwhelming participation of more than 75 Sri Lankan Quantity Surveyors practicing in the UAE to this CPD session.

The session commenced with an introduction to UAE Law and Court Structure and continued to explore Muqawala Provisions of the Civil Code. The legal provisions applicable to the construction and engineering contracts were explained to the audience in simple language using the vast experience of the speaker in the relevant field. The provisions in relation to the Liquidated Damages / Penalties and the Notices under UAE law were analyzed in detail and the audience had a rare opportunity to clarify their doubts in these areas through a very experience legal consultant practicing in the UAE legal arena. Overall it was yet another unique and remarkable CPD session organized by QSUM-UAE Chapter.
